Food is important! For most of us at least three times a day. With the newly rekindled interest of knowing where ones food comes from and local food production, here is an opportunity to meet some of the farmers who help put food on your plate.
Part 1 - At the farm 10:00AM – 12:30 (Wolf Lodge area)
Spend the morning touring a family owned and operated farm. Learn about locally produced beef, forest management, hay production and what it takes for this family to make a living and be able to pass their ranch on to the next generation. You will drive to the ranch in the Wolf Lodge area (map will be provided), spend time with the family, hear about their operation and Idaho’s agriculture, enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride and have lunch.
Part 2 - In depth learning: 1:00 – 5:30 (at the Fairgrounds)
Spend time learning about local farming in a workshop setting. Presenters will help you understand what it took to produce the food that will be served for dinner that night. Each will share their “farming” story and answer your questions
Part 3 - Social time and Dinner: 5:30 (Fairgrounds)
Social time - Local wine and beer will be featured. Hear how this segment of agriculture takes place in our area.
Dinner - Sit with local farmers and ranchers, visit, learn about their families, operations, what they produce, and enjoy a wonderful farm dinner.
Come for all day - $50
Or pick just one or two parts to participate in – Farm tour (includes lunch) $20
Afternoon Workshops - $10
Dinner (includes social time) - $30
