STCU is you.
STCU is a not-for-profit credit union helping members make sense of their finances, with deposit, loan, credit card, and business accounts. STCU operates as an association of people coming together for a common purpose. Some deposit money. Some borrow it. Some do both. Either way, we're organized to help you make sense of your finances.
A handful of Spokane teachers launched the credit union in 1934, but now anyone can join who lives, works, worships, or goes to school in Washington state or the six northern counties of Idaho. In 2014, the financial cooperative had 130,000 members.
When a bank makes a profit, they give it to shareholders. When STCU makes a profit, we invest it back into the cooperative. Deposits are federally insured to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration.
At STCU you earn higher dividends on your savings and pay less for loans. STCU provides beneficial services such as free online banking and billpay, shared branching with other credit unions, and financial education for students, teachers, and hardworking people like you.
At STCU, we have a passion for service. We love to give back to our community. We support arts and culture, education, youth and families, local chambers, and much more.
If you're an STCU member, you've probably felt the love. If you're looking for a financial institution that reflects who you are, join us!
After all, STCU is you.
