About Us
Coeur d'Alene Public Schools has a student population nearing 11,000 serving the city of Coeur d’Alene, the townships of Dalton Gardens, Hayden and Hayden Lake, and a portion of rural Kootenai County. District facilities include 10 elementary schools (one of which includes a preschool for children with special needs), three middle schools, two traditional high schools, an alternate high school, and a joint professional technical campus.
The district operates on a total budget of nearly $83 million, approximately $60 million of which is general fund. District 271 is one of the largest employers in the five northernmost counties of Idaho, and ranks sixth in enrollment size among Idaho’s 114 public school districts.
