The mission of the Coeur d'Alene Area Chamber of Commerce’s Education Committee is to serve as a link between the education community and businesses to actively support quality education and to provide a well-trained workforce in the Coeur d'Alene area.

 2011 GOALS  
In pursuit of this mission, the Committee will identify educational issues that would benefit from understanding by or support from the business community.  The Committee will then create forums, surveys, ad hoc groups, etc to bring those issues to the business community and to mobilize the business community in support of those specifics. 
 
More specifically, it will: 
  1. Create opportunities within the business community for the discussion of timely education issues.      
  2.   
  3. Communicate information about education issues to the Public Policy Committee and provide position statements for key issues.
  4.  
     
  5. Recognize and promote excellence in education, in part through:

               Partnership Recognition (A+ Education Award)
               Scholarship Awards, Scholars Breakfast 
               New Educator Reception
                Senior Projects

Jan 15    Living Through the Fire
Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre’s “CST on the Road,” is presenting Living Through the Fire in a special presentation January 15, 2016.  Regional historian Robert Singletary, Programming and Marketing Director for the Museum of North Idaho, will discuss the Big Burn Fire of 1910, to be followed by a special performance of the original musical Living Through the Fire.  January 15, 2016, 6:30pm at the Coeur d’Alene Library.  All ages $15.  Tickets can be purchased at the Second Story Bookstore in the library or by emailing dtownsend@cdalibrary.org.

All mainstage roles are paid. 

Audition dates are: January 17 and 18, 2015

Auditions will take place in 10-minute appointments between the hours of 12-6pm.

Interested parties should email AUDITIONS@CDASUMMERTHEATRE.COM with headshot and resume to register. Please include your name, phone number and availability on January 17 and 18. You will be assigned an appointment based on the availability you indicate.

-ACTORS WHO SING should prepare two short contrasting songs (16-32 bars-ish) and a short contemporary monologue.

-ACTORS WHO DO NOT SING should prepare two short contrasting contemporary monologues. 

-ACTOR/SINGERS WHO ALSO WANT TO BE CONSIDERED AS DANCERS should come dressed to dance (with tap shoes if possible) - you will be given a VERY short jazz/tap combination.

-DANCERS WHO DO NOT SING are encouraged to audition. Please indicate you are only interested in being a dancer. You do not need to prepare any additional material - simply show up for your appointment dressed to dance.
