Beginners class – small basket twined coin purse with hemp cord and yarn.

Coeur d’Alene Tribal member Frances Arapis has been weaving baskets for over 45 years, she started with pine needle baskets in the early 1980’s. Frances learned the art of basket weaving from her mother and grandmother making this art a tribal tradition that Frances now shares her traditional knowledge on to others who are willing to learn. Frances has a love and passion for basket weaving and teaching, Frances has been recognized as a Master Weaver. Frances has several of her pieces in local museums and teaches online ZOOM classes on request. This small coin purse is a contemporary design using the traditional art of twining for a beautiful finished project for beginners.
