SUMMARY:North Idaho College Board of Trustees Candidate Forum
DESCRIPTION:Brought to you by the joint chamber public policy committee\, comprised of members from CDA Regional Chamber\, Post Falls Area Chamber of Commerce\, Hayden Chamber of Commerce and Rathdrum Area Chamber of Commerce\, please join us for the 2024 North Idaho College Board of Trustees Candidate Forum.\n\n\n\nThis forum is a vital opportunity for community members to hear directly from candidates running for Board of Trustee positions in zones 3\, 4\, 5 in the upcoming November elections. The forum comes at a critical time as NIC has faced significant challenges\, including the risk of losing accreditation due to governance issues with the current Board of Trustees. These issues have raised serious concerns about the future of NIC and its ability to continue its crucial role in educating our regional workforce.\n\n\n\nSince 1933 NIC has continually provided traditional students and adult learners with access to quality\, affordable\, local higher education learning. Even during times of crisis\, the staff and educators' commitment to the student experience\, student success\, and overall excellence has been unwavering. NIC also provides our high school students with a local opportunity to complete two years of college while in high school\, through their dual enrollment program\, allowing them to enter a four-year school as a junior\, dramatically reducing the cost of a college education.\n\n\n\nA robust educational system is vital to the health of our business community. This forum will be moderated by a neutral party and will give our community the opportunity to hear each candidate's plans for the future of NIC. Reserve your seat today!
