SUMMARY:Meet a Farmer Tour and Dinner 2019
DESCRIPTION:Increase your understanding of our local\, state and national agricultural community. Learn about where our food and fiber comes from and the farmers that produce it.\n\n\n\nThe Meet a Farmer Tour and Dinner is made possible through a partnership between the Kootenai/Shosone Farm Bureau and the Coeur d'Alene Chamber Natural Resources Committee.\n\n	Board the bus at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds and tour local farms that will showcase just what it takes to farm in our area. The farmers will share the story of their farm and families\, and the challenges they face\, conservation practices\, the crops and animals they raise and the cost of doing business. Interactive dialogue is encouraged at each stop.\n	Kootenai County Fairgrounds has donated a space just for this event. Farmers will be seated at each table to lead conversations and answer questions.\n\n\n\nDifferent farmers will discuss a variety of topics during the meal. Participants can swap tickets during the trip to get a seat at the table of their choice for the topic they are most interested in learning about.\n\n\n\nDinner includes a hardy "farm" dinner plus one beer or wine ticket. Additional adult beverages will be available for purchase.  This event is being organized for educational purposes only. The cost for the tour and dinner reflect direct costs and is not for profit or as a fundraiser.\n\n\n\nTickets are $45 per person. Reservation deadline is Friday\, September 6.\n\n\n\nEach tour participant may purchase one additional dinner ticket for $25 so that a spouse or friend may join them at the dinner table.\n\n\n\nTour is limited to 50 participants plus one additional guest\, per participant for dinner.
