DESCRIPTION:The Joint Chamber Public Policy Committee\, comprised of all four Chambers of Commerce in Kootenai County\, are proud to present a live candidate forum\, which will provide the public an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates running for the district seats for Zones 1\, 2\, and 5 on the North Idaho College Board of Trustees in the upcoming general election\, Tuesday\, November 8\, 2022.\n\n\n\nA robust educational system is vital to the health of the business community. This election will significantly impact the future of North Idaho College\, our beloved higher education institution that has played a central role in driving the health of our region?s economy since 1933. \n\n\n\nSince 1933 North Idaho College has continually provided traditional students and adult learners with access to quality\, affordable local higher education opportunities. Even during times of crisis\, the staff and educators? commitment to the student experience\, student success\, and overall excellence have been unwavering. NIC also provides our high school students with a local opportunity to complete two years of college while in high school through their dual enrollment program\, allowing them to enter a four-year school as a Junior when they graduate from High School\, and dramatically reducing the cost of a college education.\n\n\n\nNorth Idaho College is a vital part of a healthy future for North Idaho. We ask the business community\, residents\, and voters to support NIC by making informed decisions in this year?s November election.
